Start of second week of 2023… looking back on Xmas Holiday

I’ve always liked a clean slate – brand new start to try again for that ever so elusive perfection of time – to be caught up -to take that trip – make that move – write that song -while everything is in its neat little place. Yeah right… but it’s a nice distraction and as the saying goes – shoot for the moon and if you fall short – ride on a cloud (I know I changed the saying a bit).

I’ve found that striving for perfection can be a healthy thing -as long as I’m not surprised when things get messy. It’s like practicing the guitar -singing – writing – always pushing for the ultimate level of things – and little by little through this process – one’s worst is a little better than the previous year and one’s best is real nice 🙂

So ok – what’s my point – I don’t really know other than keep trying – striving – don’t stop. A little better every day/week is a good thing and adds up.

Over Christmas, I visited my sister Ornella – brother-in-law John Quinn and my nephews Johnny and Patrick. Patrick is going to Umass College and Johnny is a bit older. We all had a nice time celebrating a quiet Holiday – morning runs – and later in the weekend joined by my sister Rose and my brother in-law Al.

Life is such a strange thing. When you step back and look at it – we are both superficial and empathetic creatures. When seeking a mate there is a level of physical chemistry that needs to be met but for a brotherhood -sisterhood of humankind – there is no prerequisite other than we are the same – and should help each other while fostering healthy competition. Tell that to the politician’s but that’s another post 🙂

Over the Christmas Holiday weekend -my nephew Johnny and I had the pleasure of jamming together. We captured some of it on video. Feel free to listen in below on some of the video clips. We performed Imagine – Karma Police – and did some freeform jamming in the key of C 🙂 Some really nice melodic ideas in there for a song -who knows…

I wish everyone a good year ahead – it’s so easy to lose sight of the good -when the messy part of life shows up – myself included -but here is wishing 🙂
